Nirzhar is a unique name, even for Nepal. The easiest way to say the name is by rhyming ‘near-far’ with Nirzhar (‘near-zaar’). The Sanskrit word means waterfall.
An award-winning photographic artist, his work has been published in PDN, Shutter Magazine, Black and White Spider Awards, and OC Magazine. In his work, Nirzhar explores elements of being present, self as a psychological construct, and the self’s relationship with its environment.
Nirzhar has won numerous awards for his work, including an Honorable Mention for “Rising 01”, in the 11th Annual Black and White Spider Awards in the Abstract Category and a Nomination for “Storm Over Sedona” in the Nature category.
Nirzhar is a self-taught photographic artist, who grew up in Nepal and Darjeeling and later moved to the United States. He is currently seeking gallery representation.
